Hi I’m Kelly Gibbons, and this is where I’ll be posting or discussing my stories for COMM 234 Multi-platform Storytelling. I’m a senior Mass Communications (Visual Communications) major at King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, PA, and will be graduating in December. For the class we will be doing news event and feature stories in a variety of mediums (audio, video and print) for potential publication in or on the college’s media outlets. Jounralism is a bit out of my comfort zone--to say the least. I'm much more comfortable behind the scenes, designing or protected by a camera or paintbrush. Quite frankly, interviewing people, listening to myself on audio, and being video taped or photographed are not my idea of fun times. They actually kind of scare me...really. So, why take a jounralism class? Honestly, I needed one more communications class, and this is what fit my scedule. That's what brougt me here, but stepping out of your comfort zone is what brings about growth. In the spirit of growth, here is my first (impromtu) video from class:
